Articles and various sample employment agreements and contracts have been developed for members, minimising the time you need to spend on non-medical functions. Some of this information, and the associated flyers, are available by using your NZMA membership login.

The NZMA advisory service can assist you with any employment issues. We have sample employment agreements and pre-employer checklists available when employing a new staff member. If you need to manage a current staff member's poor performance, we can assist you to follow the correct procedure to avoid a possible personal grievance. We also have information available on restructuring and redundancies.

If you are planning to hire a locum we have sample agreements covering both employee and individual contractor arrangements.

The advisory service also has a wide range of information on medical records and confidentially. We can answer questions about disclosure of medical records in certain situations, and the obligations on staff and doctors regarding medical records.
